Pubdolls post today made me want to post this. http://pubdolls.blogspot.com/
I thought about using wafer cookies and after searching the market saw these crackers. Matso crackers were the straightest. (eek, rather like stonehenge... where are the Flintstones?)
Well. I did want to add chocolate steps, fireplace and support but... Doh! or dough? or doe?
Merry Christmas Wes.We love you!
Check this one out!!! http://albertis-window.blogspot.com/2010/12/modern-gingerbread-house.html

Oh deer! They just keep getting better and better. Check out this ball clock and the Noguchi table and
Eames chair. I think marzipan is the answer! C
Ha ha ha. You made me laugh out loud! I had just read Pubdoll's post and was drooling over the wonderful house she created. So when I saw your post I laughed so hard. What a great recreation.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to ice it?
Susan
You guys are too much, I am flattered!!
ReplyDeleteLove the MH1 (in bread!)
What a fun post! Your blog looks really fun. Thanks for linking to the post on my blog. You're welcome to put a picture of my gingerbread house here, if you like. If not, I'm still flattered that you included a link.
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays!
Your MH1 cracks me up :-)
ReplyDeleteLove all the links, my favourite is of course the last one, those eatable chairs and Noguchi table are pretty impressive!
Hi Shale! Merry Christmas! Is Daphne going to Machu Piccu with you and your daughter?C
ReplyDeleteI must say Wes that you are a good sport! Your house is just the right size to play with and I look forward to another year of fun. Happy New Year, Carol
ReplyDeleteHi M nice to meet you! It's a lot harder to build than design right???? C
ReplyDeleteHi Pubdoll, I'm sure the secret is marzipan. In fact I have to go to the market today... C
ReplyDeleteFantastic, I love them - and would never have thought of looking for them, or making one! Well, I haven't made any kind of gingerbread house since I was about 10 and my mum and sister and I made a traditional gingerbread cottage. What inspiration :-) - maybe for next year ....
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays Rebecca! What a fun year we have had. Thank you for all your help. May I be the first to wish you a Happy and Wonderful New Year! C
ReplyDeleteI think Daphne would enjoy South America. She is much more sophisticated now that she has spent a week with Colette and learned all about wine, Margarettas and motorcycle guys with ulterior motives. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder, I almost forgot to pack her. And she loves to travel.
Susan
You might be onto something...Modernism Magazine is running a modernist gingerbread house contest http://modernismmagazine.blogspot.com/2010/12/enter-modernisms-gingerbread-house.html. Great use for matzoh -- it's not so great for eating!
ReplyDeleteWow cool! How could you do the K house? Like melted sugar windows like lollipops???
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing it out! C
